Year one focuses on the development of your skills across all Fine Art disciplines; painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography (both wet and dry) and digital media. Our fabrication facilities include hot metal and ceramic casting. Practical work is informed by art theory, as well as critical and historic perspectives, placing your practice in a contemporary context.

Hutch, Elizabeth Cumming, 2015

The main focus of year two is the development of your making skills and the deepening of your historical and theoretical understanding of your contemporary practice. You curate and organise a public exhibition of your work, gaining essential professional experience and laying the foundation for your practical and theoretical research in year three.

As your research and practical skills mature we increasingly encourage independent thought and action. You attend a series of lectures, talks and projects addressing professional fine art practice and current issues. To reinforce our international focus we visit cultural centres in major UK and European cities.

The final year focuses on the curated degree show. This major public event, attended by artists and curators, gives you the opportunity to put your artistic and professional practice skills to the test. This will be the first exhibition of your professional career and is the culmination of your deep research and developing art practice.
